• Introduction
    The Bachelor of Science in Business and Management programme is a Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate programme hosted by the Sino-British College, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, in partnership with the University of Bradford. Upon successful completion of four-year full-time study and credit requirements, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management degree by the University of Bradford.


    The BSc Business and Management programme is jointly launched by the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) and the University of Bradford. Leveraging the high-quality educational resources of both parties’ business schools, the programme adopts international faculty, curriculum and teaching modes to cultivate global-minded, cross-cultural, innovative, interdisciplinary and application-oriented management talents.Both the USST School of Business and Management and the University of Bradford School of Management hold authoritative AACSB accreditation. USST Business School first obtained AACSB accreditation in 2018 and successfully renewed the accreditation in 2023. Notably, the University of Bradford School of Management is among fewer than 1% of over 15,000 business schools worldwide that have obtained the triple crown accreditations of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

    The School of Business Management of SBC officially became the member of AACSB in 2021. 

      

    In 2024, the School of Management at Sino-British College was granted membership in the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). This membership establishes a solid foundation for the college to pursue accreditation through the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).


  • Degree

    The length of the programme is four years of full-time study. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from the University of Bradford.

    • What will I learn?

      The first year comprises of the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme, which is designed to give you the necessary skills in all 4 language areas (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). This is carefully integrated with university learning skills, fundamentals of management, international business environment, as well as basic accounting, finance and economics modules to fully prepare you for years from two to four of the degree.

      In the second year, you will start to take introductory business modules including Business Economics, Fundamentals of Marketing, Accounting Essentials and Organisational Behaviour. You will also take modules on Responsible Management Principles and Practices, and Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data to lay a solid theoretical foundation for advanced professional study.

      In the third year, you'll study core business modules including Entrepreneurship and Employability Management, Human Resource Management, Big Data Business Analytics, Business Law and Ethics, Strategic Management and Management Accounting.

      In the final year, core advanced modules include Contemporary Issues in International Business, Corporate Brand Management, Business Ethics and Social Responsibility, and Commercial Applications of Artificial Intelligence. You will also complete a professional graduation dissertation in Business Administration.


    • How will I learn?

      You will learn through lectures, seminars, group discussions, corporate visits, practical training, case analysis and real-world business consultancy projects. You can also carry out joint academic research with students from the University of Bradford and young scholars in Shanghai to broaden your academic horizons.

    • How will I be assessed?

      We adopt a diversified assessment system, including quizzes, coursework, individual and group presentations, team projects and in-class evaluations to comprehensively evaluate students’ academic performance.

    • What career opportunities are available?

      Graduates can work in enterprises, public institutions, government agencies, financial institutions and consulting firms, taking up posts in marketing, finance, human resources and other management roles, and are widely recognised by well-known domestic and international enterprises.

      Graduates with First Class or Upper Second Class Honours Degrees are eligible to apply for master’s and doctoral programmes at top global universities. In recent years, many SBC students have gained offers from world-leading universities with solid academic foundation, innovative ability and global vision.
