Dear Graduating Students of the Class of 2026
To ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly and in an orderly manner, please read the following arrangements and important matters carefully, plan your personal schedule in advance, and make the necessary preparations.
I. Ceremony Date and Time
The ceremony will formally commence at 14:00 on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
II. Ceremony Venue
The Auditorium, Jungong Road Campus, USST (Entry on foot via Gate No. 516 Jungong Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai).
III. Ceremony Schedule
All segments of the ceremony will proceed in strict chronological order. Please complete check-in, gown collection, robing, and rehearsal preparations in sequence.

IV. Important Reminders
1. Exclusive Seat Reservation: For requirements regarding seat reservations for graduates, please refer to Notice No. 1, sent to your email or accessible via:
https://www.sbcen.usst.edu.cn/2026/0624/c15038a367515/page.htm. All graduates planning to attend the ceremony in person must complete the reservation as required. Those who have not reserved will not have an assigned seat on the day.
2. Check-in and Gown Collection: Check-in and gown collection are in-person only (no proxy) between 11:00–12:30. The check-in list is the sole basis degree-awarding stage participation and in-venue seat allocation. The system closes at 12:30; no late check-ins will be accepted.
3. Graduates who fail to complete check-in within the designated timeframe may view the ceremony from the guest viewing area on 3F of the Auditorium but will not be permitted to proceed to the stage for degree conferral.
4. After collecting and robing in your academic gown, please proceed to your designated seating area on 2F of the Auditorium to rest and await the rehearsal. All graduates must be seated by 13:00.
5. Accompanying parents, family members, and guests are kindly requested to proceed to the designated viewing area on 3F of the Auditorium. Please refrain from entering the 2F student warm-up and rehearsal areas, and kindly follow all on-site crowd control instructions.
6. Immediately after the group photography session concludes, please follow the instructions of on-site staff and proceed to the designated return point to return your academic gown.
7. Please check the weather forecast, real-time local traffic conditions, and intercity high-speed rail or flight schedules in advance, and plan your round-trip travel accordingly to ensure you arrive on time.
8. On the day of the ceremony, all graduates and attendees are required to bring their original valid ID card and enter the campus on foot via the gate at 516 Jungong Road, Yangpu District, by scanning their ID card at the gate.
9. Any on-site adjustments, including changes to viewing area allocations or other temporary arrangements, will be communicated by on-site staff and shall prevail.
10. Graduates who have completed seat reservations but are unable to attend the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances must immediately notify their class advisor to register their absence.
V. Transportation
Parking on the Jungong Road Campus is limited. All graduates and accompanying guests are encouraged to use public transportation (metro, bus) for an eco-friendly commute. Please enter the campus on foot via Gate No. 516 Jungong Road, Yangpu District, with your original ID card.

VI. Return Travel Reminder
The ceremony includes multiple fixed segments—on-site check-in, academic gown collection, rehearsal, degree awarding, group photography, and gown return—making the entire event rather lengthy. If you need to book return train, high-speed rail, or flight tickets in advance, we recommend booking departures after 20:00 to allow ample time for photography, departure, and commuting.
VII. Dress Code
1. Standard Academic Dress: All graduates must wear the full set of UK partner university academic gowns (including robe, hood, cap, and tassel) in strict compliance with regulations, and maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
2. Attire Recommendations: For a formal and dignified look, male graduates are advised to wear a shirt and tie; female graduates are advised to wear a blouse. Dark leather shoes are recommended for all. Hairpins may be used to secure the academic cap.
VIII. Photography Arrangements
Professional photography and videography will be available throughout the ceremony. To ensure the best photo quality, please wear your academic gown in full compliance with the requirements. Group photography will take place immediately after the ceremony, following on-site signage. After group photography concludes, please return your academic gown promptly at the designated return point. IX. UK Partner University Degree Certificates
On the day of the ceremony, UK partner university degree certificates will be available for collection at: SBC Registry Department, Room T107, Teaching Building, SBC (Fuxing Road Campus). Collection time: 9:30 – 11:00, 23 July 2026.
The travel time between the two campuses is approximately 1 hour. Please plan your commute between campuses accordingly and ensure you collect your certificate within this time window, so as not to miss the ceremony check-in and entrance procedures.
Note: Should the SBC Registry receive the UK partner university degree certificates a few days in advance, an email notification will be sent by the Registry regarding early collection. Certificates may be collected in person or by an authorised representative. For in-person collection, please bring the original valid ID document. For collection by an authorised representative, please bring an authorisation letter bearing the graduate’s handwritten signature (containing both parties’ names, ID numbers, purpose of authorisation, and the graduate’s signature), along with a photocopy of both the graduate’s and the representative’s ID cards for filing. For specific procedures, please consult the SBC Registry.
