On 21 September, SBC-USST welcomed the first teaching day of the new semester. To ensure the smooth delivery of teaching, safe and orderly campus operations, and effective implementation of support services, Li Yan, Party Secretary of SBC; Zhang Zheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean of SBC; Yang Xiongfei, Head of the Teaching Management Section of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office of USST; and heads of relevant SBC internal departments visited the frontline of teaching to inspect classroom instruction, the campus environment, and teaching facilities.

Li Yan and the delegation visited the teaching building, laboratories, and various internal departments, conducting on-site inspections of the new semester's preparations, focusing on key areas such as teaching arrangements, faculty attendance and performance, student attendance, classroom order, and the operation of support services. They also received reports from each department on their preparations for the new semester, ensuring that all tasks were carried out thoroughly and effectively.

During the visit, the College leadership affirmed the thorough preparations made by all departments ahead of the semester and commended the faculty and staff for their high morale and the students for their positive outlook. At this important historical juncture — marking the 120th anniversary of USST and the 20th anniversary of SBC — the College leadership set out expectations for teaching in the new semester: continuing to uphold the student-centred educational philosophy, enhancing support services to create a better environment for student growth and the College's development; strengthening teaching management and quality monitoring, and rigorously improving teaching and learning conduct; and deepening educational reform, promoting innovation in teaching and research, and updating teaching content and methods to improve outcomes.
