On November 21, the inaugural Short Video Creation Competition Awards Ceremony of SBC was successfully held at the I`Center, S3 Teaching Building. LI Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of SBC, ZHANG Zheng, Vice Dean and Acting Executive Dean of SBC, CAI Hui, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean of SBC, along with nearly 50 faculty and student representatives, gathered together to witness this creative event that captured youthful vitality and showcased multicultural charm. The ceremony was hosted by BAO Qingxuan, a Year 1 student in Business Management.

1. International Competition Ignites Creative Enthusiasm

Since its launch, the competition has received widespread attention and enthusiastic response from faculty and students, contributing SBC's strength to the celebrations of the upcoming 120th anniversary of USST and 20th anniversary of SBC. Centered around the theme Boundless Vision, Sino-British Co-creation, the competition encouraged participants to explore the breadth of campus life through their lenses and build bridges for cross-cultural dialogue through imagery. After the submission deadline on October 26, the organising committee conducted a rigorous judging process from October 27 to November 5.

2. Diverse Perspectives Outline a Cross-Cultural Campus

The entries showcased a rich variety of themes and creative ideas, vividly reflecting the college's diverse character and unique charm. In the College Spirit category, creators captured the distinctive architectural landscapes, vibrant academic atmosphere, and heartwarming faculty-student interactions from unique perspectives, preserving campus memories onto the screen. The Cross-Cultural Stories category delved into the reflections and cultural exchanges between Chinese and international students, highlighting daily cross-cultural interactions and closely aligning with the competition's theme of Sino-British Co-creation. In the Creative Life category, students turned their lenses to the colorful campus life, transforming everyday moments—whether shared experiences with peers or explorations of the wider world—into creative visual expressions.

3. Sincere Expectations Inspire Future Journeys

The awards segment brought the event to a climax. The College Executives and faculty representatives presented awards to the winners of the College Spirit Award, Best Creativity Award, Most Popular Award, and Nature Exploration Award. Award-winning student representatives came on stage to receive their certificates and take group photos. Subsequently, all attendees enjoyed a highlights reel of the winning works, expressing their appreciation and encouragement for the participants with warm applause.
