Professor ZHU Xinyuan, male, born in July 1972, Han nationality, doctor of engineering, professor. He is currently the President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. 

In 1990, he studied at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Donghua University, and obtained a bachelor's degree. In 1994, he studied at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Donghua University, and obtained a master's degree. In 1998, he studied at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and obtained a doctorate degree. 

Since 1997, he has worked in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and has served as Deputy Director of the Analysis and Testing Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Deputy Dean, Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Executive Vice President and Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Development, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In July 2024, he will be appointed as President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. 

He is mainly engaged in polymer materials and nano biomedical research, and has presided over a number of national, provincial and enterprise scientific research projects, and some of the achievements have been industrialized. As a participant, he has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award and the first prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award. He has been awarded the  honorary titles of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Award Program of the Ministry of Education, the New Century Outstanding Talent of the Ministry of Education, the New Long March Raider of Shanghai, the Shuguang Scholar of Shanghai, and the Rising Star of Science and Technology of Shanghai. He has served as the editor and editorial board member of many academic journals at home and abroad, and a member of the academic committee of several national and provincial key laboratories/engineering centers.
