Hello, New Students | 2024 Registration day for free entry students

2024-09-0114

On September 1, SBC-USST welcomed the arrival of its 2024 free entry freshmen. Filled with anticipation and dreams, students gathered from all over the country, heading to the Fuxing Road campus. They brought vibrant energy to the beautiful Fuxing Garden, adding fresh colors and vitality to the SBC family.

LI Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of SBC, Professor SHAN Yanguang, Vice Dean of SBC, and CAI Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of SBC, Associate Dean of SBC, visited the registration site in the teaching building. They warmly greeted the new students, parents, faculty, and volunteers there. They congratulated the new students and parents on their arrival and expressed appreciation to all the staff and volunteers for their hard work. During the visit, the college leaders engaged in friendly conversations with the freshmen and their parents, asking if the registration process went smoothly and encouraging the new students to maintain a positive attitude, diligently study, develop good habits, and work hard for their dreams to make the most of their youth.

“Hello, students, registration is this way.” “Please sign in here.” “Do you need any help?” The student volunteers were fully dedicated, with their busy figures all around the campus, becoming the most heartwarming scene. The volunteers helped the freshmen begin their university journey with sincerity and enthusiasm. Watching their new schoolmates smoothly complete the registration process brought back memories of their own freshman year, filling the volunteers with pride and a sense of responsibility. Photos captured these heartwarming moments when they assisted the freshmen.

The orientation staff and volunteers patiently guided and helped the freshmen quickly complete their registration, dorm check-in, and other procedures, ensuring a smooth transition into their new life at Fuxing Road campus and welcoming them as part of the college family.

To offer new students the warmest care and best wishes, the college prepared well-designed exhibition boards and a variety of interactive activities, which attracted many freshmen to stay and take photos. They wrote down their expectations for university life on postcards, captured precious moments in front of the orientation-themed board, and connected their photos to their hometowns with threads on a map, weaving a network symbolizing unity and friendship. The “Campus Trending Topics” board showcased real-time hot topics, further enhancing campus culture and fostering a sense of belonging among the new students.

To strengthen communication between the college and parents and leverage the joint efforts of both in student development, SBC held a parents’ meeting in the auditorium. Professor SHAN Yanguang, Vice Dean of SBC, introduced the College’s educational philosophy, academic paths, overseas studies, postgraduate employment prospects, and the collaborative role of parents and the College in education. He emphasized SBC’s talent cultivation model, academic curriculum, assessment standards, degree-granting policies, teaching quality assurance systems, and student support services for academic advancement and employment. Gao Jiaqi, Head of the Student Management Department, along with other SMD tutors, explained student management policies and answered parents’ questions with care and details.
