In active response to the national call for developing talents as new productive forces and to further practice entrepreneurship and innovation, SBC’s theme of talent cultivation,the second Fuxing Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was recently held at SBC. The competition includes five tracks: Youth Red Dream Building Journey, Technological Innovation, Academic Papers, Entrepreneurship, and Social Practice and Investigation Reports. Since the launch of the competition in February 2024, student project teams from various departments of the college have actively prepared for the competition, with continuous cultivation and incubation by project guidance teachers. The competition process includes team application, material review, and on-site roadshow and defense sessions.
On April 12th, the on-site roadshow and defense session were held at the Innovation Leadership Center's Maker Space. CAI Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of SBC, Associate Dean of SBC, attended the event. Professor Shuai Ping from the Sydney Business School of Shanghai University, Zhang Zhiyong, Manager of Intel China's Innovation Ecology Cooperation Department and expert judge of the China-U.S. Youth Maker Competition, Wu Bi, Partner of Shanghai Micropower Education, Responsible Person of Singapore RoboCup Asia-Pacific Competition Zone, and expert judge of the Shanghai Division of the China-U.S. Youth Maker Competition, and Guo Xiaoshuang, lecturer of Business Management major at the Sino-British College, served as judges.
After fierce competition, a total of 18 teams entered the on-site roadshow and defense session. The themes of these projects cover a wide range, including social welfare, artificial intelligence, ecological environment, traditional culture, smart healthcare, fashion creativity, and industrial design, among others. In the end, based on the scoring results of each track, one first prize, five second prizes, six third prizes, and six most promising awards were selected.
This competition aims to provide a stage for SBC students to showcase their talents, with the hope that through this competition, more outstanding talents with international vision, innovation spirit, and practical ability will be cultivated. The Innovation Leadership Center (I·Center) of the college has included the projects registered for the competition into its project database. In the future, it will provide financial support and professional incubation guidance through the implementation of the Incubation Plan, aiming to promote the construction of a high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the college and inject inexhaustible power into the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship abilities for SBC students.
