Degree Duration: 4 Years (3 years without foundation year)

Events Management 

BA (Hons) Events Management

SBC and the University of Huddersfield have been offering Events Management programmes since 2006. This course 

helps students to have a systematical understanding in Management, Marketing and Hospitality, furthermore the kinds of practical programme experience during study will also students valuable chance to equip the skills, knowledge and competence in managing events.

Who is it For?

BA (Hons) Events Management is for students interested in working in the fast-paced Events industry. From rock concerts and the Olympic Games to local weddings and store openings, events managers are needed in various industries throughout the world. If you value creativity and you enjoy planning, communicating and managing a team, this course will be suited to you.

This is a hugely exciting time to be studying Events Management in Shanghai given all the current and planned attractions in the city, including the opening in 2016 of Shanghai Disney Resort.

What’s Included ?
As an academic subject, Events Management incorporates a variety of academic disciplines, including Management, Marketing and Hospitality. This course is designed to produce graduates equipped with the skills, knowledge and competence to manage events. This includes venue selection, public safety and crowd control, the provision of staffing, marketing, design and staging, music promotion and sponsorship.

Some of the subjects include Introduction to Management Accounting; Meeting, Conference and Exhibition Management; Stadium and Arena Management; Creativity and Innovation in Context; and Research Methods.

Events Management students at SBC also take an active role in organising and managing a live event held on campus. Final year SBC students organise and manage live events off campus for external organisations and every Events Management student experiences working with a charity before they graduate.

What are my options after graduating ? 

Events Management professionals are needed in all sectors, including Government, Banking, Entertainment, Retail, Sport and Music. SBC’s events management graduates have gone on to work for companies such as KPMG, L’Oréal, Standard Chartered, The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, and Porsche. There is also the option to proceed to Master studies, subject to meeting university entry requirements.
