President DING warmly welcomed all attendants, and expressed his sincere gratitude to UK partner universities and NCUK for their endeavours and contributions. He stressed that SBC had just held the Graduation Ceremonies for 2023 graduates of LJMU, HUD, SHU and USST. Notably, the Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 were warmly invited to celebrate their graduation together since they had missed their own in-person ceremonies as fresh graduates due to the pandemic. The Sino-British College has fulfilled its promise to provide well-prepared ceremonies and express its care and best wishes for all the graduates present with no regrets.

President DING pointed out that since the last Management Council Meeting on 9th December last year, SBC has made remarkable achievements. The School of Languages, Education and Cultures was awarded CIOL Validated Programme for EAP module and the School of Business and Management was recognised as one of the EFMD members by European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Up till now, SBC has earned academic accreditations in business, engineering as well as English language education.

DING hoped that both sides would further build on their strengths and put forward suggestions for the next development of SBC as well as the cooperation expansion of UK partner universities and USST at all levels.

President DING delivered a speech

Rupert Ward made a work report and had a discussion about strategic plans, international accreditations, project cooperation, academic staff, course curricula, talent development, enrolment and employment and other issues with the other Management Council members.
