On 26th November, the workshop on How to apply for The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) was held virtually in Board Room 203, the SBC administration building.
Yang Wuqiang, a tenured professor of the University of Manchester, was invited to share his experience and insights as a committee member of IEEE, IET and IMC. Shan Yanguang, Vice-Dean of SBC chaired the meeting. The lecturers who were preparing for the foundation were in attendance.
Shan briefly introduced how USST was preparing for the 2022 NSFC and emphasized the importance, requirements and general procedure. He also encouraged our lecturers to be more engaged in scientific research. He warmly welcomed Professor Yang Wuqiang and expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Yang for his great support for SBC's development.
Professor Yang made a speech on how to write a high-quality funding proposal of NSFC, sharing his advice and insights from the perspective of an applicant and a panel member. He was impressed by SBC's work on the application for NSFC and especially pointed out that USST had a profound history on scientific research and received high recognition in China.
SBC lecturers were greatly improved after this speech and will make every effort to apply for NSFC in 2022.
