The Sino-British College received feedback from The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) after an online and offline review by its expert panel. Dr. Mark Jones, Chair of the panel, fully affirmed the quality of the College's engineering programmes (Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering), and put forward constructive suggestions for the development of the programmes.
IET Accreditation for SBC's two engineering programmes was officially launched in early 2018. According to the criteria and standards, the College has been optimising its programmes. On December 10th, 2018, the IET expert panel made the first field visit to SBC and put forward on-the-ground insights on SBC's future development.
SBC has been committed to improving education reform, curriculum construction, laboratory construction and academic staff training. After 3 years of unremitting efforts, the IET panel conducted a virtual accreditation visit to SBC from November 2nd to 4th, 2021.
The panel members interviewed SBC staff and student representatives and scrutinised the college's curriculum construction as well as resource centres such as the teaching buildings, laboratories and the library through live broadcast and online meeting.
They highly affirmed SBC's vision, curriculum system, education and evaluation methods, student support and education resources, and provided their feedback to the accreditation committee and recommended College's engineering programmes - Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
The positive feedback from IET mirrors the unremitting endeavour and constant progress of SBC in engineering programmes in recent years. This fully indicates that SBC is recognised for the acquisition of international qualifications and high-quality engineering education. SBC will continue to build on its strengths in international education and the reform of engineering teaching, further improve engineering talent development and serve the regional economic and social development.
