From 17th to 19th October, the 8th Conference for Chinese-foreign Joint Institutes Committee was held in Chengdu. Over 280 representatives from 137 of Sino-foreign cooperative institutes across the country attended the meeting. The meeting was held by Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Chinese-foreign Joint Institutes Committee and Southwest Jiaotong University-Leeds Joint School.
Yan Bingchen, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, fully affirmed the important role of the Joint Institutes Committee in ensuring the quality and sustainable development of Chinese-foreign cooperative education. He emphasized that secondary institutions should focus on enhancing education standards, integration and innovation, striving to solve problems and exploring new measures for spillover effects.
On the afternoon of 17th October, the enlarged meeting was held. The Sino-British College, as Chair of the Dean’s Association of Chinese-foreign Cooperation attended the meeting. Shan Yanguang, Vice-Dean of SBC, shared with Yan Bingchen SBC's 15th Anniversary and the Album. Yan sent congratulations to the college and looked forward to more success.
On the afternoon of 18th October, Shan gave a speech on free-entry student recruitment and talent development against the backdrop of COVID-19. He introduced to all the educational philosophy and advantages as well as the 15th Anniversary of SBC.
Shan stressed that apart from great impact, reverse globalization and the pandemic had also brought opportunities to higher education, especially for Sino-foreign cooperative institutes.
Shan also mentioned that SBC had made full use of its unique advantages to ensure the quality of teaching and talent development by adopting online recruitment of free-entry students, foreign lecturer employment and management system, online and offline mix teaching, etc.
The conference not only strengthened relationship between Chinese-foreign cooperative institutes, but also shared valuable experience for development in all aspects.
