“There are about 36 million people are born with congenital blindness among 7.595 billion persons. Touch and hearing are their main approaches to keep connection with this world.”
On April, 2020, a news about “Blind and guide dogs were refused on the bus” was attracted by IRIS, the group from 2018 Events Management. “It’s hard to imagine blind’s world, and they should be card.” It was the time to prepare the Live Event, they decided to create a “Little dark world” to show blind’s life.
Taking an exhibition called “Conversation in the dark” as reference, and combining the VR testing exhibition “Touching Masterpieces”, they know more about blind’s life. Finally, they deigned the project “Sensory Loss”.
The project made by four parts, including walking with tactile stick, hearing of the blind system, touching the speculation and VR immersive experience.
“The power of our group”
It is definitely important to communicate, since we have no enough budget, and this project is more serious. After numerous meetings, we drafted our plan and schedule with the help from our program leaders.
Difficulty happened with harvest
Before Live Event, our group member did everything well although some problems of the holder in the beginning. Meanwhile, through this activity, we get more knowledge about virtual reality and other skills.
Out of class, study in practice
A project that was built from scratch cannot leave with professional guide of our lecturers. We finished each item with their suggestions using the knowledge we have learned in class. In the process of practice, poster design, booth layout, risk assessment…each step is not easy and unforgettable.
Live Event is a good chance that we can study out of class, and a special experience to hold an activity with group. We believe it can help us, as well as in future career.
