On 6th January, USST President DING Xiaodong, Vice-President WU Zhong, Vice-President ZHANG Hua of USST came to SBC for an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Seminar with relevant staff, and had a tour of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre accompanied by LI Yan, Secretary of General Party Branch of SBC; LIU Qin, Vice-Dean of SBC and XU Lin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC.
LI Yan hosted the meeting and presented the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre. She said, “it aims to provide our students a place to create and find interest on scientific research. Combined with British education, we always try to stimulate students’ potentials”. Then XU Lin illustrated further information about the STEM course.
After listening, WU Zhong mentioned that it is necessary for SBC to improve the training programme and effectively enhance students' innovative spirit, entrepreneurial awareness and innovative and creative ability with curricular orientation. While ZHANG Hua believes that innovation and entrepreneurship is beneficial to encourage students and lecturers to make their research more open, it will be a revolution in university education. He suggested us to constantly exploring new ideas about students’ development, to accelerate the development of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
DING Xiaodong recognised SBC’s achievements, and mentioned that we should keep our education mode, and promote different types of cooperation. With the help of different competition, we can launch our new results and build new teams. He also expressed his expectation that we can combine innovation and entrepreneurship to each lesson with absorbing experiences from overseas, and consistently help our students to do practice and self-study.
