SBC held 2020 Awards Ceremony and New Students Art Performance Successfully

On 29th December, SBC held 2020 Awards Ceremony and New Students Art Performance in the Auditorium successfully.

CAI Yonglian, Vice President (International) of USST, Dean of SBC; LI Yan, Secretary of General Party Branch of SBC; LIU Qin, Vice-Dean of SBC; XU Lin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC; Alastair Balchin, Director of External Engagement; Lee Henderson, Head of Business and Management School; XU Tong, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League of Tianping Community, and over 300 lecturers and students joined this event, where they reviewed the outstanding achievements of SBC in 2020 and enjoyed the wonderful art performances by the students. 

During the openig ceremony, Folk music with the melodious classical musical instrument and ink painting background, pulled open the prelude to the ceremony. After the opening ceremony performance, LI Yan gave a brief introduction to the background and process of the Awards Ceremony and expressed congratulations to all the winners. During the past year, a total of 342 students achieved scholarships, among them, there are 3 students won the highest honour scholarship - SBC Principal's Scholarship. One student won the 2020 National Scholarship and the Shanghai Municipal Scholarship. Afterwards, leaders and guests presented presented the winners and took photos with them. In the warmly applause of the audience, ZHU Chenlei, the winner of National Scholarship, shared her growth story under the guidance of the three core education concepts of SBC. All students were deeply touched and encouraged.

With the rising atmosphere, the ceremony moved on to Fuxing SBCer”. Through  an impressive video, the audiences reviewed the achievements made by the students in the themes of “Responsible Leadership, Enterprise and Innovation, Cultural Empathy” in 2020, and commended the winners.

CAI Yonglian emphasized that not only gave high prise for the education philosophy and achievements of SBC, but also applauded for the students with excellent qualities and indomitable fighting spirits in this in this special and extraordinary year. At the same time, Madame CAI also put forward higher expectations for students, encouraging students to become international talents in this increasingly international era.

Following the Awards Ceremony, members of the Fuxing Art Troupe joining with the freshers representatives brought a range of performances to the stage, dancing, singing, instrument playing and even a short English stage performance etc. 

The high quality art performance was quite well received by all staff and students. Students in the SBC will take on responsibilities constantly, stay true to their original aspiration and forge ahead.
