On 13th November, Professor XIA Kun, Vice Dean of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of USST gave a lecture to introduce the National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest, which was hosted by XU Lin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC.
“On 30th June, 2007, after graduating with my PhD, I started work at USST. “In the past decade, he has many achievements in scientific research and Innovation and Entrepreneurship education. For example, his students won gold award in China Internet Plus College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2019.
In the lecture, Professor XIA introduced the development of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the rules of National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest, prize, etc.
“Students of SBC are excellent; I believe that you deserve the prizes!” He encouraged students to engage in different competition, “Our university thinks highly of students’ innovation and entrepreneurship training and study so that there are many achievements and prizes every year.” He showed pride when he mentioned his students who have achieved excellent performance in competitions.
In the last part of the lecture, there were several questions from students about the preparation and tips for the competition. Professor XIA told them that innovation is mostly from the young generation so students must study hard. He said that lecturers will help them.
XU Lin said that SBC encourages students to participate in academic research, innovation practice, and lecturers’ projects. And SBC also creates STEM course and provides innovation leadership centre for students who are creative with many opportunities to develop their general ability.
