On 27th November, we invited GUO Peiming, an advisor of USST library to give a lecture to students on the use of a digital library.
Logging into the home page of campus library, you can access library collections, download books, and use various databases or resources. After introducing the arrangement rules of library and database resources, Guo Peiming explained the use methods of Chinese HowNet, ScienceDirect, EBSCOhost, Chaoxing, Duxiu and other platforms, in a comprehensive introduction.
He said that the digital library is not only a search platform, but also a good learning database, which is a student course learning assistant containing a wealth of multimedia databases, professional learning and examination information. Students choose their own learning resources according to their needs.
In terms of the database resources that students often use in their studies, Guo gave a demonstration on how to access digital books and how to make use of off-campus digital resources, such as CARSI, HowNet Research, termonline, etc., as well as manage personal literature.
In the lecture, students followed Guo to open the library homepage and raised questions. Guo patiently answered the questions, and welcomed the students to consult the USST library staff.
Through this lecture, students gained a better understanding about library services, and reinforced the concept of self-study and self-study.
