Delegation from School of Continuing Education of USST Visited SBC

On 24th November, LI Jiandong, Dean and Secretary of School of Continuing Education; ZHOU Ruihong, Vice-Dean of School of Continuing Education; ZHENG Jianjun, Director of Office of Non-academic Education; ZHANG Dan, Director of Registry Office; QIAN Xueping, Director of General Office; and CHEN Puxiang, Teaching Evaluation and Admissions Office visited SBC. LI Yan, Party Secretary of SBC; LIU Qin, Vice-Dean of SBC; XU Lin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC; Joyce Zhang, Head of Student Management; Elline Tang, Head of Registry; Lily Lin, Recruitment Director;Julia Ge,  Director of Resources and Planning and Steve Zhang, Finance & Planning Manager attended the meeting.

In the meeting, LIU Qin warmly welcomed the visitors and introduced SBC’s current situation, student development achievement, international cooperation and enrolment programs, etc. She emphasized that SBC sees ‘Internationalised Education’ as most important, which means that we will continue to increase the number of international students and lecturers, cooperation and exchange activities, overseas university resources to strengthen the quality of teaching, and do a good job in alumni work under the concepts of “Responsible Leadership”, “Enterprise and Innovation” and “Cultural Empathy”.

XU Lin introduced SBC’s education reform including the work on reform research, practice projects, innovation and entrepreneurship education. She said that with the joint effort of students and lecturers, SBC has made outstanding achievements in discipline and student development. We also built a strong, student-centred academic research team to give full play to research expertise of students and lecturers.

LI Jiandong gave his praise on SBC’s achievement and showed his aspiration to learn from us. He briefly introduced the development and programme characteristics of the School of Continuing Education. Then the participants had a discussion on the formulation of the 14th five-year plan, internal management system and incentive mechanism; and their opinions on the ideological and political work of non-academic education students, the CSCSE projects, and the management of non-academic education.

LI Yan said that SBC tries to promote student quality with new special student-enrolment approaches and unique British education. Also, SBC’s achievement cannot stop with students and lecturers’ continuing innovation and efforts.

After the meeting, the visitors had a campus tour of  SBC.
