“Campus life is a time to learn how to expand your value”. On afternoon of 6th November, WEI Jingjing, CEO of Tunicorn came with a lecture with the theme of early career-planning in T701, which attracted nearly 300 students. We also invited HAN Tao, the General Manager of Harsom Front, and XU Lin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC hosted the lecture.

“If the letters A to Z match figures 1 to 26, which word will make a hundred?——the answer is ATTITUDE.” “So, what attitude should we adopt to spend our college life?” XU Lin interacted with students on this special question.

“We should understand how to optimize our whole life before starting our campus life or career.” WEI Jingjing said, it is necessary to know ourselves and our target.

In the lecture, with his own experience, he said that they should focus on the first three years of their career and realize full value through rapid growth. “We should expand the social circle with high EQ and abundant knowledge in this process. Approach and observe excellent people as much as you can, and make friends five or more years older, then learn from their experiences. He encouraged students to set their goals and career plans for preparing everything in advance.

Selection is more important than effort, but effort is a precondition. Wei Jingjing used his career life as an example. He mentioned, “We must pay 200% effort on the things we selected, and focus on long-term goals without short-term gains. Hopefullyevery student can keep a strong morale in the future!”

WEI Jingjing’s humorous language and abundant experiences impressed SBC students; they asked several questions about starting a business in the interaction, like How to choose a career according to preferences? How to keep enthusiasm on career? How to understand the technology needs of the industry you're interested in? Then, HAN Tao shared his experiences in the theme of “How to leave your comfort zone”, he suggested that students study from excellent people.

After the lecture, XU Lin held an academic seminar in the library, with invited delegation from a cooperated company coming, scientific-research dissertation topic, experts from relevant fields and several Year-4 students. They had a deep discussion on scientific research content and research methods, etc.

XU Lin said that there is a communication platform between high-tech companies, experts and students in SBC. The innovation and entrepreneurship lecture series will continue to help students learn more about their degrees and their employment prospects, and more deeply understand the importance of academic research and career planning.
