Delegation from CSCSE Visited SBC

On 4th November, WANG Yiwei, Director of The First Certification Department of CSCSE; GAO Qiong, Deputy Director of the Second Certification Department of CSCSE; YANG Xiaojing, Business Leader of Foreign-related Schools of the Second Certification Department of CSCSE; and WANG Yu, Certification Evaluator of the First Certification Department of CSCSE visited SBC. LI Yan, Party Secretary of SBC; LIU Qin, Vice-Dean of SBC; XU Lin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC; Elline Tang, Head of Registry; and Lily Lin, Recruitment Director attended the meeting.

Before the meeting, Professor Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC warmly welcomed the visitors.

In the meeting, LIU Qin thanked CSCSE for the help and support, then introduced SBC’s history, education, student development, and graduates’ achievement, etc. She said, SBC will continue to explore a mode of student development and further strengthen the construction of a high-level talent team through the help and support of CSCSE.

XU Lin showed SBC’s achievement of innovation and entrepreneurship. She told the visitors that SBC provides students with a complete learning system including ideological and political education, professional knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship, and general education. At the same time, we make full use of unique heuristic teaching and project-based learning to cultivate students' logical, critical and innovative thinking, so as to comprehensively improve students' ability of independent learning.

LI Yan said that we always keep the mode of open and student-oriented education, and diversified development. However, SBC is facing the dual challenges of COVID-19 and the severe international situation, so that SBC will strictly follow the requirements of CSCSE, and strengthen the ideological and political education of students with the focus on improving the quality of talent.

The meeting discussed the overall education planning and positioning, the impact of COVID-19 and current international situation for Sino-foreign cooperative education, etc.

After the meeting, the visitors had a campus tour with the guidance of SBC staff.
