On 20th October, HE Tao, Dean of Detroit Green Technology Institute visited SBC with Ge Ruihong, Vice-Dean of DGTI; LIU Tao, Deputy Secretary; MA Yuting, Director of the Office of DGTI; LIU Lei, Director of Academic Affairs of DGTI. Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC; Alastair Balchin, Director of External Engagement; Elline TANG, Head of Registry; Eric JIN, Head of Career Service & Development of SBC, Deputy Student Management of SBC; and Julia GE, Director of Resources and Planning of SBC, Head of HR of SBC also attended the meeting.
Laura Bishop warmly welcomed the visitors and introduced SBC’s history, education, student development, and graduates’ achievement, etc. HE Tao also introduced DGTI through two videos. Cooperation programmes, teaching and student management, student recruitment were discussed.
After the meeting, the visitors had a campus tour with the guidance of SBC staff.
Detroit Green Technology Institute (DGTI) of Hubei University of Technology (HBUT) is a newly established Sino-foreign joint school, which was approved by the Ministry of Education of China in March, 2019. The institute is located in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province and a large metropolitan area in central-south China. It is the only Sino-U.S. institute in Hubei province, and the only joint institute in China which focuses on the international green industry talents. It is administered cooperatively by Hubei University of Technology in China and University of Detroit Mercy in USA.
