High school students across China are approaching the challenge of the GaoKao exam. Professors and lecturers at SBC offered their encouragement for success in the GaoKao by presenting an on-line information session about opportunities at SBC during the evening of 30th June. Professor LIU Qin, Vice-Dean of SBC, hosted the presentation and introduced SBC’s history, teaching team, course structure, teaching characteristics, etc.
Professor Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC, talked about ‘internationalised education’, including its definition, classification, values, etc. She said that there are many reasons why high school students choose SBC to study for British degrees, like our abundant teaching experiences, top English and subject teaching, smooth adjustment and support for study in UK. Students can complete their degree programmes at SBC or progress to our British partner universities.
Then 7 Chinese and international lecturers at SBC also discussed their academic study programmes, including Gordon Callan, Head of the School of Languages, Education and Culture DAI Bo,Programme Leader of EEE/IECE programme; FAN Kaiguo (talking from Germany), Programme Leader of ME/MSE programme; Bob Horrocks, a Senior Lecturer; HE Jianjia, Programme Leader of EVM/BM programmes; Sharon McElhinney, Programme Leader of Events Management programme; and Dr Ijeoma Okpanum, Programme Leader of the Business Management programme. They discussed their programmes’ benefits, course options, and career prospects, etc.
Finally, everyone involved in the presentation stood and gave a rousing encouragement to the GaoKao candidates and said that SBC is looking forward to seeing them in the autumn semester.
