The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 drew widespread attention of SBC Alumni at home and abroad.

YAN Li is a 2019 alumna of SBC and a bachelor of University of Sheffield. Due to her enthusiasm for Chinese zither, she devotes herself to it after graduation then starting a business named “Shouyi zither boutique”. She aims to create top-quality Chinese zithers to consumers.  In the view of her friends, YAN Li is a girl going for perfect and thinking highly on action than speaking, which also reflects her kind heart and unique personality.

YAN Li said, “From Chinese New Year’s Eve to January 5 of the lunar calendar, I did a small but important thing with my friends’ help.”

Coronavirus pops up suddenly, while assistances from society comes fastly. At Chinese New Year’s Eve, a raise donation message appeared in YAN Li’s WeChat moment: “Hi all! I need  your help since I have found equipment of eye protector and protection suit for around 2000 overall which can be sent to severely hit area. These costs 50 thousand yuan but my power is really weak, could you give a hand?”

She received 81,755.55 Yuan in two hours, and used the money to buy supplies and posted them to 30 organizations (most of them are Hubei hospitals and Wuhan train stations). All of the expressages are on behalf of medical rescue to ensure they can be sent at once.

“Thank you so much!” a doctor from Xiangyang City, Hubei Province said with emotion. YAN Li thinks that the good result should take credit for trust among Chinese people.  The disease is ruthless but people are warm, “We are not frontline staffs, but we are in the battleground”, She said.
