A delegation from SBC was invited to attend the NCUK Annual Conference and Global Partner Awards Ceremony, from 17th to 20th November 2019. Professor Laura Bishop, Principal of the Sino-British College, Shona NI, Executive Assistant to the Principal, Eric JIN, Head of Career Service & Development, Scott ZHANG, Director of International Affairs, Julia GE, Director of Resources and Planning and Steve ZHANG, Finance & Planning Manager attended on behalf of the College. The SBC delegation visited the University of Bradford, the host of this event SBC’s partner UK university, and discussed student development, campus culture, etc. with representatives of NCUK and study centres.
SBC received the “Special Recognition Award” as a long-term, highly valued NCUK Delivery Partner NCUK students were also recognised in the Student Award ceremony. QinXin WENG, a former SBCstudent studying at University of Leeds on the SBC 2017 2+2 Business Management Programme won a “2019 NCUK Student Award” and received a prize from Professor John Brewer, CEO of NCUK.
QinXin WENG said, “I feel quite happy to won this award, which is evidence of my two-years of hard study.” She is also thankful to SBC lecturers. “Within the environment of British education, teachers in SBC helped me a lot to improve my academic abilities. I easily adapt to at the University of Leeds. In the future, I will study harder to gain better performance.”
Professor Laura Bishop said, “SBC's development cannot be achieved without cooperation with SBC students, staff, and its partners. SBC has impact on students’ growth and future. We are grateful to thanks to NCUK for providing opportunities for international communication and development for SBC students.”
The Sino-British College was founded by USST and 9 UK universities (University of Bradford, University of Huddersfield, Leeds Beckett University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Sheffield, University of Leeds, Liverpool John Moores University, and University of Salford) from NCUK.
