Business academics from SBC partner Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) visited on 31st October. Dr Costas Theodoridis and Dr Jill Murray met Prof. Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC, Lee Henderson, Head of School of Business and Management, Alastair Balchin, Director of External Engagement and Scott Zhang, Director of International Affairs.
Dr Theodoridis and Dr Murray visited the campus library and student hall accompanied by Fang Jiaqi and Zhang Shuyang, two student representatives from business and engineering. The students gave a detailed introduction of the college’s architectural history, the independent study room and the library book stock. Dr Theodoridis and Dr Murray also visited the Innovation Centre and learned about the projects "Starry Ink", "Actors" and "Robo Vigor". They discussed life and sport in Britain.
In the formal meeting, it was noted that MMU’s business school holds AACSB accreditation, as part of the “triple” with EQUIS and AMBA accreditations. MMU are interested in developing summer activities for their students and the potential role for SBC was discussed. The MMU visitors foresaw another visit during March 2020.
