In the summer of 2019, a batch of international freshmen from throughout the world entered SBC. On the evening of 23rd September, SBC held a boisterous international freshmen welcome party in Tea Room.
Although they did not know one another before, all the students were chatting with one another around the table with happiness and curiosity before the party. Besides, they tried paper-cutting together and experienced Chinese traditional paper-cutting culture.
The party started at 5.30 pm. At first, Prof. Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC, welcomed all the freshmen enthusiastically. She expressed that studying and living in China is an amazing thing for every international student, and hoped all of them could integrate into Chinese culture and enjoy the studying and living in SBC.
International Senior Emil, who is the representative of senior students, shared some of his study experience with the freshmen. As a junior student of Events Management, he said that it is interesting to study in SBC, and he has learned a rich knowledge of principles and operational rules behind the world of economics. He also believed that all freshmen will gradually become keen on courses and living in SBC.
After the prologue, the freshmen participated in the “ice-breaking” with their seniors and tutors. They enjoyed the desserts, drinks and dinner prepared by SBC, hence began to have a further understanding of their classmates and tutors. “College life is strange but exciting,” one of the freshmen said with great delight, “I can’t wait to start my college life!”
