Psychological Counsellors Alliance Forum and Student Mental Health Education Seminar was held in SBC

On 15th May, the Psychological Counsellors Alliance Forum and Student Mental Health Education Seminar was successfully held in SBC. Li Yan, Party Secretary of SBC, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Fuxing Road Campus, senior officials from Shanghai Psychological Counselling Association of Higher Learning, and other representatives from USST and Yangpu District, attended the seminar.

In recent years, the government has attached great importance to the work of mental health education in colleges and universities, and has put forward clearer and more specific requirements for the psychological work of college students. At the seminar, the off-campus experts discussed their views on the content of mental health education in colleges and universities.

Chen Zengtang, president of Shanghai Psychological Counselling Association of Higher Learning, agreed that the students' mental health education work pays great attention to the construction of psychological teachers and the mobilization of multiple forces, which fully embodies the concept of "all staff educate people" and "four in one" pattern of mental health education of higher learning.

In the group discussion, members of the Psychological Counsellors Alliancefrom every schools shared their views in combination with the two themes of "the breakthrough of psychological work under the perspective of family and school linkage" and "the promotion of teachers’ mental health which combines with medical treatment and education ".

The Psychological Counsellors Alliance of USST is  established in April 2017, members are composed by four teams, including administrative faculty, professional teachers, staff from the student affair system and staff from external medical and psychological counselling agencies. At present, the number of members has grown to more than 60, which has greatly promoted the expansion of off-campus psychological education resources and the consolidation of psychological work in our university.
