On April 30, Mr. Mark Power, Interim Vice-Chancellor and Chief Excutive of Liverpool John Moores University, was accompanied by Dr. Edward Harcourt, Pro Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) of Liverpool John Moore University, Ms. Sarah Beresford, Director of International Relations, Dr. Alison LUI, Associate Dean (Global Engagement), Dr. Julia WANG, Head of China Engagement, Mr. Sean SHAO, and Ms. Fiona ZHAN, China Engagement Officer, visited SBC.
Professor Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC, Professor Linda Liu, Vice-Dean of SBC, Ms. Xu, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC and Ms. Shona, Executive Assistant to the Principal of SBC, attended the meeting.
On behalf of the College, Professor Laura Bishop extended a warm welcome to Mr. Power. Then she introduced the teaching model, academic personnel building, graduate achievements and future plans of SBC. Professor Linda Liu gave a brief introduction of SBC, and student achievements.
Mr. Power gave a high appreciation for the achievements in SBC, and briefly introduced the latest developments of Liverpool John Moores University. He said that this is his first visit to SBC and hopes that the relationship between the two colleges will be promoted by cooperation in summer schools, personnel training, teacher management and scientific research. Mr. Power also said that LJMU will continue to support the development of SBC.
After the meeting, the delegation was invited to Tearoom. They had a face talk with the teachers and students in the School of Engineering and Computing. Qiu Yilin, a sophomore of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, shared the current study experience with the delegation. Mr. Power has congratulated him on his first prize in the 10th National College Student Mathematics Final Competition. Dr. Edward Harcourt also kindly talked with students about problems and challenges in their studies. He hoped that the students have bright future in studies and also warmly welcomed them to LJMU as exchange students.
After the talk with students, the delegation visited the campus. They also visited the outstanding student societies of SBC, including the "RoboVigor", "Actor" and "Starry Ink", and gave highly praise on the innovation and achievements of SBC students.
