Hilton (China) Campus Recruitment Seminar into SBC Campus

On April 12, Hilton (China) Hotels Corporation and the Sino-British College, USST successfully held the ‘Signing Ceremony of School-Enterprise Strategic Cooperation Agreement’ and the ‘Hilton Greater China and Mongolia Management Trainee Project Seminar’ at SBC campus. Members from the Hilton Group team attended the seminar included Mr Joseph Zitnik, Area General Manager, Mr Isaac Liu, Acting Head of Campus Recruitment in Greater China and Mongolia, Ms Emily Liu, Area Director of Human Resources, Mr Carter, Commercial Director, Ms Windy Li, Human Resources Manager and Ms Hu Yuhuang, trainee of Financial Management. The event also invites Professor Laura Bishop, Principal of SBC, Li Yan, Party Secretary of SBC, Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee, Fuxing Road Campus, Tony Ryan, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of SBC, Julia Ge, Director of Human Resources and Planning Centre, Joyce Zhang, Head of Student Management Department and Eric Jin, Head of Student Careers Service Development. The seminar attracted over 50 students. 

Professor Laura Bishop and Secretary Li Yan delivered welcome speeches respectively. Professor Laura Bishop expressed her sincere thanks to Hilton officials who attended this event on behalf of SBC. Secretary Li Yan emphasized the importance of school-enterprise cooperation to SBC and hoped to maintain a long-term friendly cooperative relationship with Hilton Group. Mr Joseph Zitnik and  Mr Isaac Liu introduced the company’s culture background and the concept of strategic development for school-enterprise cooperation projects. Then Professor Laura Bishop, Secretary Li Yan, Mr Joseph Zitnik and Mr Isaac Liu altogether signed the Intern Cooperation Agreement as representatives and the school-enterprise strategic cooperation agreement of both sides.

The seminar is held in SBC Tearoom. Firstly, Mr Isaac Liu welcomed the students who attend the seminar and announced that Hilton and SBC signed ‘School-enterprise Strategic Sooperation Agreement’. Ms Windy Li, Human Resources Manager, introduced the details about the company including its overall development process, business philosophy and brand images etc., to help attendees further understand the key elements behind the Hilton’s success.

Ms Hu Yuhuang, Trainee of Financial Management, introduced the ‘2019 Greater China and Mongolia Management Trainee Project’ in detail. This project aims to discover and cultivate a group of outstanding and prospective future management talents which will rapidly grow into the backbone management of Hilton Group through 18 to 24 months of the intensive training program. “We will provide equal treatment for outstanding talents selected in the management trainee program, and at there will be different job opportunities from each departments of the hotel according to talents’ overall performance as well.” Ms. Hu Yuhuang said.

Mr Carter, Commercial Director, introduced the contents of several job positions inside the company such as marketing development and business development for the students and answered the questions from students patiently. He hoped that students could clarify their job responsibilities and plan their career ahead of time.

In the following interview session, candidates and the interviewers conducted one-to-one interviews. Finally,eight students got the positive feedback from interviewers and were invited to visit Hilton Hotel later to complete the final round interview. At the end of today’s interview, Mr Carter said that the comprehensive quality and strong self-reliance of attended students really makes him impressed. Through the cooperation with SBC, more outstanding graduates can get to know more about the Hilton Corporation and join it in the future if possible. Hilton will also provide them with the best development opportunities which could be a win-win situation for cooperation as well.

By giving full play to the school’s talents advantages and introducing enterprises into the campus, both sides can complement and exert the respective advantages, integrate and share resources and further improve the quality of personnel training to achieve win-win situation jointly.
