The cultural lecture on the theme of Shanghai-style Cheongsam was held in SBC Tearoom on March 25. Professor Ma Xiaohui, Honorary Professor of SBC, Chinese Erhu Virtuoso, together with Ms Zhang lili, President of the Association for Promotion of Shanghai-style Cheongsam, gave presentations about the cultures behind the erhu and cheongsam. Li yan, Party Secretary of SBC, Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee, Fuxing Road Campus, and nearly 100 staff and students participated in this lecture.
At the beginning, Ms Zhang lili introduced the history of Shanghai-style cheongsam and its production process. As one of the first members of Promotion of Shanghai-style Cheongsam Association, Prof. Ma Xiaohui also discussed how performances of her work links to the cheongsam culture, both at home and abroad.
Chinese traditional culture contains rich wisdom, not only the treasure of the nation, but also has very important social value. In the future, SBC will continue to promote the promotion and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture into campus , and help students to build cultural self-confidence.
