On March 2, Dr Malcolm Butler, Director of Global Engagement of the University of Sheffield, visited SBC. Dr Malcolm Butler was accompanied by Ms Dörte Stevenson, Deputy Director of International Affairs of the University of Sheffield and Mr Michael Tang,Project Manager of the University of Sheffield. Professor Ma Xiaoting, International Affairs Office Director of USST, Professor Laura C. Bishop, Principal of SBC, Professor Linda Liu, Vice Dean of SBC, met with Dr Malcolm Butler and his colleagues on their arrival.
A business meeting was held by the representatives with senior colleagues from SBC to discuss aspects of collaboration. Professor Bishop extended a warm welcome to the official on behalf of the College. She gave a brief introduction of SBC, including the undergraduate programmes, model of teaching and learning, career prospects, student achievement and its development plan. Dr Malcolm Butler said that Sheffield attaches great importance to cooperation with SBC in all aspects and agreed that the two institutions would explore the potential for further collaboration on international students, research partnerships and scientific research cooperation. Following the presentation, the delegation engaged in wide-ranging discussions with the SBC team on further strengthen the cooperative ties between the two institutions.
After the conference, Professor Bishop invited the delegation to experience the SBC campus and view the facilities and SBC student societies in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The second Free Entry Entrance Examination of the SBC in 2019 held at SBC at the same day, which attracted nearly 50 high school graduates from key high schools in different provinces and cities in China. A domestic recuitment presentation was offered to the examinees and parents by Lily Lin, Recruitment Director of SBC.
