The Autumn 2018 UK Partner University Fair was held at the SBC Teaching Building on 26th October. Mr Christopher Wilson, Regional Recruitment Manager, the University of Sheffield, Ms Shelley Hurst, Senior International Marketing Officer, the University of Bradford, Mr Lei Ding, China Office Manager, the University of Bradford, Ms Victoria Barber, International Development Officer, Leeds Beckett University, Ms Fiona Zhang China Recruitment Officer, Liverpool John Moores University , Mr Jonathan Pitt, International Recruitment Manager, Manchester Metropolitan University, Ms Cindy Wang-Cowham, Academic MCIPD, FHEA, Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management, Course Leader MSc International Human Resource Management, International Recruitment and Marketing Co-ordinator (China) , Sheffield Hallam University, and Ms Fangyuan Xia, Student Support Officer, University of Huddersfield visited SBC. Professor Laura C. Bishop, Principal of SBC met with the visitors on their arrival and extended a warm welcome to them on behalf of the College.
Nearly 200 SBC students received professional counselling service for overseas study and career development offered by the officials from our UK partner universities and NCUK. They were most concerned about the college admissions requirements, programmes and courses and their lives in the UK.
“I think I can have a better understanding of my future studies through this opportunity to get in touch with the UK partner universities.” Year 1 Manufacturing Systems Engineering student Xitian Huang said.
“I received more detailed information about my programme and my future studies with the communication with Mr Christopher Wilson from the University of Sheffield." Year 1 Business student Management Yifei Zhou said.
Mr Christopher Wilson, Regional Recruitment Manager, the University of Sheffield, he said, “The purpose of this event is to give SBC students a better understanding of their future development, a basic introduction on the information of each partner universities and find the one that suits them best. We believe that they can be some of the best students we have seen so far this year.”
The visitors from NCUK and UCAS also provided training on the UCAS University admission system to SBC administrative staff, which will help them to understand and use this system better. This year, SBC students will benefit from having early access to this information from the Autumn fair, in addition to the UK Partner fair which is held in the Spring. SBC is grateful for the active engagement from its UK partner universities.
