The 11th National Conference on Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship was successfully held on October 13th and 14th at Jimei University. Xu Qingsen, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the experts group, representatives from undergraduate students, teachers and entrepreneurs attended the conference.
SBC Student team show their work "multi - terrain mecanum chassis project" with the guidance of Xulin, Associate Dean of Administration of SBC, Dr Adrian Chong, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of Engineering, Ping Liu, Lecturer of Engineering, at the conference.
The conference is an important annual event based on the “College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program” , which is one of the highly recognized events in undergraduate education in China. Through the selection of experts, 394 results of 255 colleges and universities were selected in the conference, including 176 academic papers and 218 innovation and entrepreneurship projects, representing the latest innovation and entrepreneurship education achievements of universities in nationwide.
The "multi - terrain mecanum chassis project" designed by SBC students Hu Rui, Wu Junzhe, Cao Jiwen and Zhou Yuhang, finally won the " Best Creative Design " award by the experts of the conference and " Most Popular Exhibit " award on the spot voting. The results of this innovative project can allows precise control of the chassis in a specific environment and can be applied in the application of robotics and automated storage environment. During the exhibition, the project attracted the attention of a large number of visitors and received high praise and on-site guidance from Sun Yuedong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) and Zhu Jianmin, Director of Academic Affairs Office, USST.
In the future, SBC will further encourage students to innovate and practice boldly, build a broader innovation platform for students, create a more professional practice and entrepreneurial environment, and cultivate more innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
