SBC T1 scholarships offered to outstanding high school graduates

2018 SBC T1 Scholarship Programme attracted a significant number of potential students with top academic performance and excellent English language skills. After a comprehensive evaluation process, 38 high school graduates were offered places for the T-Week Programme, which was run as a key element of the T1 Scholarship Programme from the 19th to the 26th August. The final speech competition and the award ceremony were held on the 26th August.

There were 10 students shortlisted for the finals based on the result of the preliminary competition. At the finals, each student was asked to give a 10-minute presentation on the topic of “Evaluate the effectiveness of an innovative idea, system or application that provides a solution to an important issue in China or the world”.

Out of the 10 finalists, SBC T1 Programme Top Scholarship was presented to Tao Jianing from Ningbo Foreign Language School and Zhou Yinqi from the Xiamen No.1 high School of Fujian. The Most Outgoing Award was presented to Tao Jianing. The Best Team Player Award was presented to Zhou Yinqi and Wang Ruiyang from the Affiliated High School to Hangzhou Normal Universit. The Runner-up Award was presented to Wang Ruiyang and Yao Wenxin from the Wuxi Luo She High School.

The finals and the award ceremony was attended by Professor Linda Liu, Vice-Dean of SBC, Gordon Callan, Director of Teaching and Learning of SBC, the academic team from SBC and the student mentors of the T1 Programme, Tony Ryan, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of SBC, Dr Ijeoma Okpanu, Lecturer of Business and Management School, Alice Ga, Assistant Lecturer of Engineering and Computing School, Lily Lin, Recruitment Director of SBC and members of the administrative teams from SBC.
