We are delighted to report that Hyacinthe Onillon of SBC’s School of Business and Management has been chosen as an overseas collaborative partner award winner in Sheffield Hallam University's Inspirational Teaching Awards for 2017.
A panel met earlier this month at Sheffield Hallam University to consider the nominations received in respect of SBC, chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience, Professor Christina Hughes, and included representation from across the University.
The names of all award winners will be officially announced by Professor Chris Husbands, Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University, on 25th May. The announcement will be followed by a series of celebratory activities, including the installation of photos of all award winners in the main entrance of Sheffield Hallam University, an awards dinner hosted at the University in July and inclusion of the award in a graduation ceremony.
The Sheffield Hallam University Inspirational Teaching Awards celebrate the teachers who inspire and support students to achieve to the best of their abilities. These successful awards have been running for six years and this year have been extended to overseas partners to recognise the excellent teaching that students experience.
The fact that Hyacinthe has received an Inspirational Teaching Award is a significant achievement and these awards provide a great opportunity for both SBC and Sheffield Hallam University to recognise her work.
Professor John Wilson, Principal and CEO of SBC, said: “I commend Sheffield Hallam University for its Inspirational Teaching Awards and, on behalf of the College, I’d like to congratulate Hyacinthe on this excellent and well-deserved achievement.”
