The Event festival runs from Monday April 8th until Friday April 19th.
The festival is comprised of 15 different events. They range from Individual and Team Sports to Career Fairs and Easter Egg Colouring. There is a Day Market, Night Market, and Magic Fair as well as nostalgic events such as a 90"s Party and Generation Night. One of the largest events will be our own SBC X-Games which will feature professional Chinese skaters competing for fun and trophies.
Our longest running and most highly attended event is the SBC International Food Festival. This year it is bigger and better than ever. The aim of the event is fun with a large international flair. We have food represented from all around the globe; British, Italian, French, American, Mexican, Canadian, Japanese, Texas BBQ, Korean, Dutch, Mediterranean and of course various Chinese foods from as far away as Tibet. There will be a cherry pie eating contest and a hot dog eating contest as well. Tickets for a generous taste of this international fair are only 5 RMB each.
Nearly all of our event tickets are accompanied by freebee coupons and vouchers from great locations. For example, the 90’s party costs 40 RMB but each ticket receives a 30 RMB voucher from sponsor Haagen-Dazs.
The two week festival will be capped off on the final Friday evening with the SBC Student Prom complete with King and Queen.
Our sponsor list has grown considerably this year to include famous names such as Buick, Red Bull and Papa John's just to name a few. Special thanks to China Unicom who has generously donated a great deal of equipment during the entire two week festival.
Ticket sales have been phenomenal with many events already selling out of their VIP class tickets.
SBC is very grateful to have the opportunity to support two fine charities with 100% of the proceeds. These include a children's food charity Mifan Mama http://mifanmama.com and a local Shanghai grass roots arts charity WABC http://www.wabcchina.org Last year's total donations were over 27,000 RMB and this year our goal is to more than double that.
