A Fresh Start for a New Semester: SBC Conducts First-Day Inspections for Spring Term

To strengthen teaching administration and ensure a smooth and well-organized start to the new semester, on March 2, the first day of the Spring Term, LI Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of SBC, ZHANG Zheng, Vice Dean of SBC, CAI Hui, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean of SBC, and YANG Xiongfeng, Section Chief of the Academic Administration Section, Undergraduate Academic Affairs of USST, conducted a comprehensive inspection of teaching and operational activities across the College.

The team led by LI Yan visited the teaching building, laboratories, and administrative offices, closely examining classroom order, functionality of teaching equipment, staff and student engagement, lab safety protocols, campus environment, and student support services. The Executive team affirmed the thorough preparation of faculty and the positive spirit of students. They underscored the importance of responsibility, urging all departments to address practical needs, uphold safety standards, and enhance service support to foster student development and drive the College’s high-quality growth. Particular attention was paid to teaching quality and academic culture. The leadership stressed the need for multi-dimensional teaching evaluations to encourage pedagogical innovation, quality-driven development, and more agile and effective international teaching methods, ultimately raising the standard of talent cultivation.

Ahead of the semester, CAI Yonglian, Vice President of USST and Dean of SBC, visited Fuxing Road Campus to inspect and guide preparatory work. She emphasised that 2026 marks not only the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan but also the 120th anniversary of USST and the 20th anniversary of SBC—a pivotal moment for both USST and SBC. She called on all staff to embrace a sprint start mindset to drive high-quality progress across all fronts.
