Some international students, because of their high school qualification, will be allowed to enter SBC in Year 2. This means the pathways available to them will be 1+2, 2+1 and 3+0. SBC Year 1 is a foundation year that is internationally recognised around the world, it is accredited by NCUK.
What is SBC?
The Sino British College, USST (SBC) was established in 2006 as a result of an innovative collaboration between University of Shanghai Science and Technology (USST) and 9 UK top UK universities. It combines the best of Chinese and British education in one of the world’s leading cities making it a truly international university college.
SBC as a whole is a British University College in Shanghai that offers degree courses in Business and Engineering. As an institution we are owned by nine UK universities and one Chinese university.
Students at SBC have a unique opportunity to start their degree in China but complete their degree in the UK. With regard to Business Management students can go to 9 different UK universities after completing their initial studies at SBC. Just under half of SBC students transfer to University of Leeds or The University of Sheffield, both members of the prestigious Russel Group, after completing SBC first and second years. There are many different business programmes students can complete at our partner universities.
What programmes we offer?
Our courses are delivered either entirely in Shanghai or part in Shanghai and part in the United Kingdom. SBC’s programmes are considered pathways. Our most popular pathways are 2+2, 3+1 and 4+0.
2+2 would represent two years in Shanghai and then two years in the UK;
3+1 is three years in Shanghaiand then one year in the UK;
4+0 means four years in Shanghai and 0 years in the UK.
