Recently, SBC-USST and the Beijing Institute of Big Data Research (BIBDR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative partnership. The two parties will cooperate in areas such as strategic planning and system implementation of SBC’s AI infrastructure, AI-enabled teaching methodologies and systems, curriculum design and delivery for AI-related courses, student internship cooperation and more, exploring new pathways for international talent cultivation and industry-education integration.
This collaborative partnership was agreed upon by both parties in late 2025. Zhang Zheng, Vice Dean of SBC, who signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the College, noted that the partnership represents a concrete step in advancing educational reform and responding to the needs of the digital economy. By integrating with BIBDR's research resources, the College will promote the digital intelligence upgrade of its curriculum system and explore collaborative mechanisms for industry-university-research talent cultivation.
According to the MoU, both parties will fully leverage BIBDR's research and industry strengths in big data and artificial intelligence, combined with SBC's international education resources, to jointly develop industry-oriented curriculum systems and provide students with internship and practice platforms, thereby enhancing the relevance and adaptability of talent cultivation.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward for SBC in AI-empowered talent development and educational teaching reform. The College will further focus on interdisciplinary integration and industry-education synergy, continuously improving its educational standards and talent cultivation quality, cultivating more internationally competitive interdisciplinary talents to serve the national big data strategy and AI industry development.
