On the morning of February 28, a delegation led by Li Ye, Deputy Party Secretary of Glasgow College of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), visited the Sino-British College to conduct research and exchange ideas on the operational mechanisms of international cooperative education, faculty development, and student support systems. Cai Hui, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean of SBC, Gao Jiaqi, Director of Student Affairs, attended the meeting.

Cai Hui, representing the College, extended a warm welcome to Li Ye and his delegation. She provided a brief overview of USST’s historical development, disciplinary strengths, and SBC’s distinctive features in international education, including its achievements, management structure, faculty composition, graduate employment and further studies, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, Party-building efforts, and talent cultivation.
She noted that SBC upholds USST’s international education tradition by adopting a one-to-many cooperative model, leveraging the institution’s disciplinary advantages while integrating high-quality British higher education. Guided by the three overarching themes of Responsible Leadership, Entreprise and Innovation, and Cultural Empathy, the College has cultivated international talents in engineering, management, and cultural studies, equipping them with leadership accountability, innovative thinking, and cross-cultural communication skills. She expressed hope for further exchanges between the two institutions to share experiences in cooperative education management and talent cultivation, jointly enhancing the quality of international education.
Li Ye expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the development history and educational model of UESTC Glasgow College. He acknowledged SBC's remarkable achievements and pioneering practices in educational themes, management systems, talent cultivation, and student support. He hoped this exchange would serve as an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding, explore new approaches in international education, contributing to the long-term development of both institutions.
During the discussion, both sides engaged in pragmatic dialogues on challenges and opportunities in cooperative education, exchanging insights on talent cultivation, faculty structure, innovation mentoring, career guidance, and high-level projects. Prior to the meeting, the UESTC Glasgow College delegation visited the history museum of Fuxing Road Campus.
