In order to evaluate teaching and learning in Events Management and further enhance students' professional skills and practical abilities, on March 27th, SBC Y3 students in Events Management managed a live events on the campus soccer field, themed Barrier-free, Sustainable, and Eco-friendly. Ajaya Shakya and other lecturers in Events Management were present to make the assessment and provide timely guidance in decoration, operational procedures, interaction, negotiation, publicity and more.

On the playground, 110 Y3 students in Events Management arranged their respective booths, enthusiastically showcasing their design concepts, charitable initiatives, interactive projects, unique products, and exquisite gifts to the SBC community. Twelve groups centered around the themes of barrier-free access and environmental protection, using methods such as handmade potted plants, second-hand markets, creative ping-pong matches, plant printing, homemade canvas bags, etc., to attract faculty and students to actively participate in various projects, fully interpreting the concept of green development, guiding everyone to recognize individual responsibility and mission for environmental protection, and advocating for integrating environmental protection into daily life, contributing their own efforts to ecological civilization.

Ajaya Shakya said, “Our students gain valuable skills through hands-on experience in event management. They learn how to effectively plan and execute events by applying key theories and essential event management skills. A crucial aspect of this learning process is that students are not only tasked with developing and implementing an event, but also with ensuring its successful delivery. This entails integrating and coordinating various resources, team members, time, costs, and the specific skills needed for effective project management. Moreover, students have the opportunity to explore relevant concepts and theories related to events.”

Gao Xinxue, one of “the exhibitors” said, During this event, our group faced many difficulties, but we always support each other and finally solved the problems. We actively communicated to invite a lama at our booth for safety. We met with unexpected situations like weather and decoration, but we brainstormed quickly and our booth was popular among teachers and students. Students experienced a variety of activities such as painting, ring tossing, and remote-controlled car races. Through enjoyable games, they grasped the importance of environmental protection and started practicing the green mission from simple actions.

Managing the Live Event is an important part of the practical teaching of Events Management students at SBC, aiming to enable students to step out of the classroom and textbooks, go through the entire process of organizing events by themselves, further deepen students' understanding of theoretical knowledge, promote teaching quality, enrich students' extracurricular lives, and add a bright touch to the cross-cultural atmosphere of the College.
