Campus Card and Account Services

The Information Technology Department (referred to as the IT Department) of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology Sino-British College (SBC) is primarily responsible for the college's information technology infrastructure.

As a service department that provides vital support to all SBC students, it offers fast and efficient information technology services, including campus card services, campus account services, printing and photocopying services, and IT

equipment borrowing services.

1. Campus Card

The campus card has various uses, including access to the teaching buildings, the Learning Resource Center, student dormitories, dining halls, shower facilities, library borrowing privileges, and exam identification. To ensure the

normal use of students' campus cards, the IT Department provides campus card services in the student hall on the first floor of the teaching building. The service hours are every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from

1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and it includes the following services:

  1) Card production and issuance

  2) Card replacement in case of loss

  3) Reissuing a new card

All new students will receive a campus card upon enrollment. Lost cards can be reissued for a fee of 15 RMB, payable in cash or using the card's balance. The campus card has an expiration date and is automatically deactivated upon expiry.

Before graduation, please return the card to the IT Service Center.

  Usage Guidelines

  1) New cards come with no balance. Students can choose to recharge within the campus using the self-service recharge machine or at the dining hall recharge window (self-service recharge requires an Agricultural Bank debit card).

  2) Seven days after card replacement, the balance from the original card becomes accessible, allowing students to transfer it to the new card using the recharge machine. During this period, you can still use the new card for transactions

and top-ups.

  3) In case of card loss, report it immediately through Welink or at the card service center or the recharge machine to prevent unauthorized use of the card balance.

  4) When transferring funds at the recharge machine, you need to enter a password. The password rule is as follows: Remove the last digit of your ID card number and use the remaining six digits (e.g., if your ID card number is 310110199201123456,

your password is 112345).

  5) After reporting the loss and reissuing a new card, it takes 2 days to synchronize the new card information with the access control system. During this period, the access control card functionality is disabled. If it still doesn't work after

2 days, please visit the card service center with your new card.

2. Campus Account Services

The campus account is the unified login credential for various electronic teaching and academic systems within the college. The IT Service Center provides availability restoration services for campus accounts, including assistance with account

password errors, forgotten passwords, and password expiration. Service hours are on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All new students receive a campus account, which is distributed by counselors or the IT department

in written form. Campus accounts are used for the following purposes:

  1) Logging into teaching computers in computer labs

  2) Using the online email system

  3) Accessing the grade inquiry system

  Usage Guidelines

  1) When applying for password reset services, you need to present your campus card.

  2) Following the school's departure process, visit the IT Service Center to disable your campus account when leaving the college.

  3) After graduation, in accordance with the school's requirements, campus accounts will be deactivated by the IT Service Center.

  4) New passwords have a validity period of 150 days, and you will receive reminders of password expiration and password changes in advance in your email.

  5) During the password's validity period, you can log in to https://mail.sbc.usst.edu.cn to change your password.

  6) For new students logging in for the first time or receiving password reset services, the system will require a password change. The new password must meet the following criteria: It must be at least 8 characters long and include a combination

of letters, numbers, and English punctuation marks.

  7) The initial password will be provided in the email notification or written notice from the college.
