Scholarships
The SBC Scholarship system aims to promote learning motivation among students and to encourage all-round development morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically. In accordance with the actual conditions at SBC, the SBC scholarship regulations have been formulated in accordance with the requirements of “The Administrative Measures for Undergraduate Scholarships at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology”. Scholarships at SBC include academic scholarships and social scholarships. Undergraduate students fully registered at SBC who have not failed any of the exams in their academic year (excluding those winning the full attendance prize) or committed any disciplinary offences are eligible to apply for scholarships.
Work-study Programme
SBC students who have financial difficulties or want to accumulate practical experiences are provided with opportunities for internships or part-time jobs. So far nearly 1/3 of the students have been given a number of such opportunities by the college. Students have worked to improve their academic performance and social skills, and also become more independent in terms of personality.
Healthcare
SBC provides medical services for all Year 1 students to ensure that students are physically healthy. SBC also provide opportunities for students to be covered by commercial insurance.
Psychological Counselling
SBC offers safe and confidential psychological tests and counselling services to all students. Special psychological counselling sessions will be offered to those students who need additional help. Recommendations for professional psychological counselling or therapy agencies off campus will be given when needed.
