On the 15th of June, the first recruitment examination of SBC after Gaoko was held successfully, attracting more than 140 students from near 50 key-point high schools all over the country to participate in. They confidently went into the examination rooms, faced with a vital moment in their life.
The examination went smoothly and orderly. The rise of the Gaokao admission rate and more flexible choices make students more confident and let parents be more rational.
On the day before the examination, Xu Junhan, majoring in Business Management and Emil Bengtsson, majoring in Events Management of SBC, gave the tutorial lecture of writing and speaking parts, as student mentors. Their speeches enabled examiners to have the initial understanding of English teaching environment of SBC and the high academic standards under the British education system, and helped them reach satisfying scores. After the lecture, they patiently answered the questions, gaining appreciation from students.
To make sure the examination and the recruitment lecture would go smoothly, each department of the college tried their best to give every examiner thoughtful care. Student volunteers guided examiners to the examination rooms and made the attendance record of the recruitment lecture for parents.
In the recruitment lecture, Lin Yan, Director of Recruitment Department of SBC, firstly welcomed examiners and parents. Then, she introduced the history of SBC, the results of internationalised education, domestic recruitment condition, 2018 recruitment policies, recruitment work plan, etc. At last, she wishes the examiners ideal scores.
Afterwards, Wang Zhihao, majoring in Business Management, shared his study experience in education concepts with the combination of Chinese and Western cultures, good study atmosphere, strict academic standards, fruitful campus activities, etc., encouraging parents to choose SBC as well as limitless possibilities of personal development.
In the counselling session, a parent from Shandong Province indicated that he has a positive attitude towards the future development of SBC. Especially when he had listened to the recruitment lecture, the internationalised education mode of SBC left a deep impression on him. He hoped his child could get a good score and admitted by SBC, broadening his horizons and cultivating his academic and career abilities.
A Shanghainese examiner said, “I’m looking forward to joining SBC. I especially admire the academic atmosphere here. I also appreciate two senior students’ tutorial lecture, which is quite helpful for me to build my confidence.”
