In the afternoon of 25th May, the SBC Staff Meeting was held in Academic Lecture Theatre of SBC. The meeting focused on the theme “Led by 8th USST Party Congress, Implement Work Plan of SBC”. Professor Tian Weifeng, Li Yan, Xu Lin, and SBC staff attended the meeting, which was hosted by Professor Liu Qin.
Professor Liu Qian indicated that SBC has achieved success in various fields since the spring began. In the next stage of work, SBC should emphasise on the construction of high-level universities of USST. She announced the incoming principal will be on duty before 1st September this year.
Lin Yan, Director of Domestic Recruitment Department, analyses changes of Gaokao policies in recent years and made a report of 2018 domestic recruitment and future recruitment plan.
Yuan Jie, Director of International Affairs Department, briefly analysed the external environment of international recruitment, and reported on 2018 international recruitment progress and following work plan.
Wang Yu, Head of Public Relations and Marketing Department, gave a presentation of the progress of the preparation for 2018 Open Days and 2018 Graduation Ceremonies.
Li Yan made a conclusive analysis on 2017 graduates employability and postgraduate study and called to improve the quality of employment and master studies and to strengthen the cooperation between the college and enterprises, in order to realise the work aims of high employment rate, high employment quality, high employment satisfaction and high postgraduate study quality. She also pointed out that Career Service Department’s work plan is to dig employer resources, and to improve alumni resources, devoted to providing a perfect career development system for students and graduates and helping them find appropriate career paths.
Professor Tian Weifeng made a conclusion. She spoke highly of recent achievements of SBC and appreciated the staff’s hard work and support. She encouraged staff to seize new chances in the new era, to face new challenges, and to promote the leaping development of SBC. In the end of the meeting, she hoped SBC would meet the new requirements of high-level university construction of USST, building the bridge between Britain and China.
