As an integral part of their business consultancy project course, two groups of Year 4 students studying the Sheffield Hallam Business Management programme at SBC organized a presentation exercise for Brantingham Manufacturing(BMF) in Shanghai on 10th May.
BMF has been manufacturing and exporting industrial hardware from Greater China since 1979. They offer our customers the ability to competitively outsource their components and products with the assurance that quality, dependability, and delivery will not only meet but exceed their expectations.
The presentation was organised by Andy Ritchie, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of Sheffield Hallam University Years 3 & 4 Business Management from SBC. Rob Decker, Engineering Manager and Joshua Nantz, business development manager from BMF also evaluated the performances of each group.
The two groups presented on topics of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) export to the Australian market and hydraulic auger attachment exports to North America . The project involved a large amount of research and data analysis, primary research through direct telephone consultation the market and extensive secondry research using online databases at Sheffield Hallam University and Shanghai Library. The students had to work in groups of five on this real business project and effective team work was an important part of the challenge.
The presentation was well-received by the BMF staff. Manager Rob Decker said he was very impressed and felt that the SBC students worked very hard on the presentations. He thought the end product was very professional.
