On 5th March 2018, A meeting was held for the announcement of Party Secretary responsibilities changes in the conference room of SBC Administrative Building.
The meeting was attended by Wu Song, USST Chancellor, Professor Tian Weifeng, Vice-President of USST and Dean of SBC and senior colleagues from USST. The meeting was also attended by Professor John Wilson, Principal of SBC, Professor Liu Qin, Vice-Dean of SBC, Xulin, Associate Dean of Administration and all SBC support service Heads and Directors.
Party Secretary Liu Bin is now to fulfil a role as Director of the Office of the Chancellor and President at USST. Replacing Party Secretary Liu Bin, the Party Secretary of SBC, Secretary of the Joint General Party Branch, Fuxing campus and Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee, Fuxing Campus is to be Li Yan.
On behalf of SBC, Professor John Wilson congratulated Party Secretary Liu Bin on his new role and to thank him for his major contribution to the success of SBC over 5 years. And also warmly welcome Party Secretary Li Yan to SBC, and look forward very much to working with her and building on the excellent legacy of Party Secretary Liu Bin. Meanwihile, Professor John Wilson also delighted to welcome to the College Ms. XU Lin (English name Fiona Xu) as Associate Dean of Administration named on 2nd February 2018.
USST Chancellor Wu Song highly recognised the contribution to the developments of SBC made by Party Secretary Liu Bin and wish him every success in his new role. He also liked to congratulate Party Secretary Li Yan on her appointment and warmly welcome her to SBC.
Some biographical details of Party Secretary Li yan and Associate Dean of Administration Xu Lin are given below:
Li Yan was born in February 1972 in Shanghai. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management. She started her career in July, 1993 and has fulfilled the following roles in USST, Deputy Secretary of General Party Branch, School of Management; Deputy Director of Organisation Department (United Front Work Department); Party Secretary of School of Science; Director of Organisation Department (United Front Work Department) and Secretary of Party Committee, etc. She has profound experience in Ideological and political education and Party-related management. She served as Special Assistant to the District Mayor, Yangpu District from November 2008 to November 2009. She was appointed as Party Secretary of SBC, and Secretary of Joint General Party Branch, Fuxing Campus in March, 2018.
Xu Lin (English name Fiona Xu) as Associate Dean of Administration. She was born in November 1980 in Shanghai. She has got a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Management. She started her career in USST from July 2003 and has held the positions of Director of General Office of the Graduate School and Chief of Evaluation & Accreditation Office of Registry consecutively and has gained rich experience in teaching management. She has also been put on field practice in Higher Education Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission from September 2005 to September 2007 and Higher Education Department of Science & Engineering Majors of MOE from September 2007 to September 2008. She began to serve as Associate Dean of Administration of SBC in February 2018.
