The 2017 Career Forum and Job Fair for Overseas Students successfully held at SBC

The 2017 Career Forum and Job Fair for Overseas Students, hosted by Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association with Shanghai Overseas Chinese Affairs Center, and co-organized by SBC and MY JOB TANK,INC.was successfully held on 10th December 2017 at SBC. Professor Tian Weifeng, Vice-President of USST and Dean of SBC, Dr Liu Bin, Secretary of the Joint General Party Branch and Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee, USSTProfessor John Wilson, Principal & CEO of SBC, Professor Linda Liu, Vice-Dean of SBC, and the representatives from Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association and other business representatives attended the event. 

Eight participants of returned students gave excellent presentations in the first part of TED speech contest. It is designed to provide a platform for discussion of key issues in Chinese returnees' employment and their career development. Tang Jinfeng, graduated in Industrial Electronics and Control Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University. He shared his ideas on the job search confusion among overseas returnees and won the  Most Potential Award from the judges.

Following the speech contest, Professor Tian Weifeng extended a warm welcome on behalf of the College in the ‘Symposium on International Talent Training’ in SBC tearoom.  In her welcome speech, Professor Tian Weifeng said “The Symposium provides an opportunity to explore critically contemporary issues in international and innovating talent training and considers what lessons we can learn to inform our practices over the future development.”

The last part of job fair for Overseas Students held in the first floor of teaching building, attracted number of returnees and over 30 famous enterprises in China. The fair especially set up careers service desk, included the resume modification service, face-to-face consultation and settled issue for returnee students.
