Initiated by the Health Mental Centre of USST, a co-operation conference on mental health problems for college students was held on 21th November. It was joined by over 100 staff and students at SBC tearoom. This conference will include a series of professional training courses, and will last for a month. Yangyin, Director of the Health Mental Centre of USST and Dr Liu Bin, Secretary of the Joint General Party Branch and Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee attended this opening ceremony.
On behalf of the SBC, Dr Liu Bin extended a warm welcome to all the guests. From this event, Dr Liu Bin announced that Liuqiang, deputy director of the psychiatry department of Shanghai mental health centre, was hired as an outside mental health education expert of SBC. Then he gave a lecture to staff and students on college students’ mental health and shared his ideas about the treatment methods.
Dr Liu Bin, said it was of such importance that SBC would focus more on mental health education now, and also hoped the courses will help the students do better when facing psychological crisis in the future.
