On 6th November, Professor Keith Miller, Head of Computing, Mathematics & Digital Technology, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), visited The Sino-British College (SBC). Professor Keith Miller was accompanied by Dr Hong Li, Principal Lecturer Engineering, and Charlotte Dawson, Regional Development Manager of International Office.
The representatives held a meeting with senior colleagues from SBC to discuss aspects of collaboration. From SBC, the meeting was attended by Professor John Wilson, Principal and CEO, Dr Adrian Chong, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader IY1 Engineering, Dr Gareth Lewis, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader LJMU Engineering, Iris Yuan, Director of International Affairs, and Ben Wang, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
On behalf of the College Executive team, Professor John Wilson extended a warm welcome to Keith Miller and his colleagues and gave a brief introduction of SBC and its plan of activities for the future.
In response, Professor Keith Miller introduced the research achievements of Manchester Metropolitan University,particularly in science and engineering field,including the professional courses and placement opportunities in companies, etc.Then, the delegation engaged in wide-ranging discussions with the SBC team on how to deepen the academic cooperation between two institutions.
Following the meeting, the delegation gave an interactive session to engineering students in SBC Tearoom. Professor Keith Miller and Dr Hong Li offered a brief presentation about MMU and in particular the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
The senior representatives highly recognized the success achieved by SBC in all aspects and agreed that MMU and SBC would explore the potential for further collaboration on international students, degree programmes and scientific research cooperation.
